Pinal County man admits having sex with girl, 14

A Pinal County man told police he knew he was wrong to have sex with a 14-year-old girl, according to a sheriff's report.

Ralph Lopez, 20, was arrested Thursday after he admitted to having sex with the girl three times in April.

According to the report, Lopez had sex with the girl inside his truck in the desert near San Manuel. He said all of the acts were consensual, deputies said.

Lopez said he and the girl discussed the sex acts on her MySpace page. When the girl's mother found out, she forced them to break up and cease contact, Lopez told police. Lopez said he sent the girl's mother a text message to apologize for his actions and asked for a second chance.

Lopez said he first met the girl through mutual friends in February, but he had broken up with her because of her age.

Lopez was arrested on suspicion of sexual conduct with a minor after he attempted to contact the girl again Nov. 9, according to the report.
